Chronoswiss Neo Digiteur, in Rose, Mint and Sky

Gerd-Rüdiger Lang introduced the Digiteur without hands in 2005, and its jumping-hour idea now returns dressed in three soft pastels.

Chronoswiss today introduces the Neo Digiteur Pastel Code: three limited editions in Rose, Mint and Sky. The brand calls it a mechanical digital regulator, and each colour is limited to 99 pieces.

Time appears through three windows: a jumping hour at 12 o’clock, sweeping minutes in the centre and sweeping seconds at 6. Each dial is sandblasted, then lacquered, so the pastel colour keeps a matte, lively surface. The rectangular steel case, on a grey or black textile strap, was reimagined at the Atelier Lucerne.

Inside is the hand-wound Caliber C.85757, named after Chronoswiss’s original 1983 postal code, with an in-house module that drives the jumping hour and the two discs. A shaped sapphire window in the case back recalls the rectangular movement of the first Digiteur, from 2005.

Two decades on, Chronoswiss still asks its wearer to read the time, not glance at it.
