Armin Strom introduces the Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665
Armin Strom says Claude Greisler solved in 2016 what watchmakers had chased since Christiaan Huygens’s clock experiments of 1665: resonance that holds steady on the wrist.
Armin Strom introduces the Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665, made in a limited series of 25 pieces. It imagines how a resonance wristwatch might have looked had it been achieved centuries ago.

Two balance wheels influence each other through almost imperceptible vibrations and settle into synchronised oscillation. The patented resonance clutch, which Armin Strom says is as thin as a human hair, keeps them together despite movements of the wrist. The off-centre dial is 18K white gold in “vernis laqué poli”, and the steel case measures 43mm.
The hand-wound calibre ARF21_ZG shows hours, minutes and twin seconds, with a flyback function and 80 hours of power reserve. Its bridges are bevelled and polished by hand, with black-polished screws, perlage and Geneva stripes.

Armin Strom calls it a relic from a future that might have been. It imagines what resonance could have looked like on the wrist, centuries before anyone thought to try.
