Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist
Description
This Zeitgeist asks what a resonance wristwatch might have looked like had the problem been solved in the age of marine chronometers, when steadier timekeeping meant a better fix on longitude at sea.
So it dresses the modern mechanism in period clothes. The off-centre dial is 18-carat white gold in polished lacquer, the hands are heat-blued steel, and the mainplate and bridges of the hand-wound calibre ARF21_ZG are coated in rose gold PVD. Christiaan Huygens watched two of his clocks fall into step; Armin Strom’s patented resonance clutch makes a pair of balances do it on the wrist, and keeps them there.
Twin seconds hands, zeroed together by a flyback, show the two holding time as one. An 80-hour power reserve, a 43 mm steel case 11.55 mm thick, dark grey Alcantara. Limited to 25 pieces.
