For its first rose gold outing, Ressence founder Benoît Mintiens has warmed the crownless TYPE 1° with a rose-gold-plated dial, and chose Dubai Watch Week to show it.
Ressence introduces the TYPE 1 Round Rose Gold, or T1°RG, limited to 70 pieces. The original TYPE 1 launched in 2014, and the Antwerp-based brand has made several versions of the design since.
The design replaces traditional hands with rotating discs, driven by the patented ROCS 1.3 module on a customised 2892 base calibre. On the convex dial, plated in 4N rose gold with a sunray finish, three flush, inclined discs show the hours, seconds and day of the week. Cool silver subdials and white minute markers add clarity.
“The Middle Eastern market has a deep appreciation for both craftsmanship and innovation. This watch embodies both,” says Mintiens.
There is no crown anywhere on the case; time is set and wound from the back, so nothing breaks the curve of the dial. A light grey suede strap lets the rose gold do the talking.
