Guido Terreni, CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier, holds that a chronograph is only as good as the architecture of the movement that drives it.
The TONDA PF Chronograph 40mm now comes entirely in 18-carat rose gold, case and bracelet, with a Mineral Blue dial. The brand first showed it at Watches and Wonders.

The 40mm case is polished and satin-finished, with the brand’s signature knurled bezel. There is no date window, so the Mineral Blue dial, cut in a Grain d’Orge guilloché, is given over entirely to the chronograph’s three counters.
Inside is the COSC-certified calibre PF070, an integrated chronograph movement with a column wheel that the brand says gives the pushers a crisp, smooth feel. It runs at 36,000 vibrations an hour, or 5Hz, fast enough to measure a tenth of a second. Its bridges and oscillating weight are openworked and skeletonised in rose gold.
“The hand does not simply finish a watch; it gives matter its memory,” says Michel Parmigiani.
Parmigiani Fleurier says the watch is designed to move between formal occasions and a more relaxed daily life with equal ease.
