Xavier de Roquemaurel, CEO of Czapek, wanted to tell the time without traditional hands, and designer Thomas Funder gave the idea a flying saucer to live in.
Czapek today introduces the Time Jumper, marking ten years since the revival of its name. It comes as a limited edition of 100 pieces in stainless steel and 30 in 3N 18-carat gold.

Jumping hours on a 24-hour register appear on two sapphire discs, one for units and one for tens — a mechanism Czapek calls a première. On the half-hunter cover, a three-dimensional guilloché by Metalem suggests a black hole, with a loupe at its centre.
The case measures 40.5mm, and inside is the in-house, self-winding Calibre 10.1, with a skeletonised rotor in recycled 950 platinum and 60 hours of power reserve. Czapek will make 180 of these movements, marking 180 years since its founding in 1845.
“Our goal with the Time Jumper was to rethink the expression of time and bring something new and fresh to the table,” says de Roquemaurel.
Flip the cover closed and the hour loupe is the only thing left to read; flip it open, and the whole idea reveals itself at once.
