Description

The Black Star closes URWERK’s UR-230 trilogy, after the carbon Eagle and the ceramic Polaris. Its black is not flat: braided ceramic, fibreglass and carbon fibre are layered in a polymer, and machining brings up a shiny relief of sparkling dots.

Three cubic hour satellites travel a 120° arc each hour while a 3D retrograde hand marks the minutes, then snaps back for the next hour. The hour markers glow in yellow Super-LumiNova.

The calibre UR-7.30 winds through two turbines: one absorbs shocks, the other brakes the rotor with air. A caseback selector sets the rotor’s load or switches it off for winding by hand, and two indicators on the dial show the setting. It runs for 48 hours at 4 Hz.

A sealed titanium container inside the case keeps it water resistant to 30 m. On a yellow rubber strap. Limited to 35 pieces.
