Description

Under water, the glass of an ordinary dive watch turns into a mirror once you look at it from an angle. The TYPE 5 was built so that does not happen.

Its upper half holds 3.57 ml of oil, which cancels that reflection, so the Night Blue display stays readable from almost any angle, above the surface or below it. Because oil does not compress, it also helps the case resist water pressure, which lets it be light: 46 mm of DLC-coated Grade 5 titanium, water resistant to 100 m.

The dry automatic movement below drives the ROCS 5 through a magnetic transmission: hours, minutes and a 90-second runner, with a gauge for the oil’s temperature. It winds and sets from the caseback, and the bezel turns one way, as a diver’s should.

Supplied on blue Cordovan leather, with a nylon strap for the days it gets wet.
