Description

The Linear reads the hour like a measuring instrument. A long lever crosses the dial and pushes a small pointer up a vertical scale, one jump an hour. You hear each jump, and the biggest is the one that sends it back to the start after twelve.

Hautlence made it with Agenhor as the first complication after its move from Neuchâtel to Schaffhausen. The minutes are read on a sapphire scale printed in blue and white, and a one-minute flying tourbillon turns at six o’clock.

The D50 automatic calibre gives at least 72 hours at 3 Hz. The steel case is 43 × 50.8 mm and 12.2 mm thick, water resistant to 10 ATM. Limited to 28 pieces, on a blue rubber strap.

Like the rest of us, it cannot go back in time: the hour is only ever set forwards.
