Description

This is the Ultimate Sapphire as it first appeared: a small grey-toned sapphire dial set off-centre over a black movement plate, so the time keeps to one corner and the mechanism has the rest.

The plate carries hand guilloché by Kari Voutilainen, under bridges coated in dark grey ruthenium, with the barrel and micro-rotor picked out in rhodium. Hand-finished steel hands with Super-LumiNova keep it legible.

That barrel is the point. Armin Strom’s patented Equal Force Barrel contains a stop-work declutch, so the balance receives the same force from a full wind to the end of the 72-hour reserve. The ASB19 winds itself through a micro-rotor, which keeps the steel case to 41 mm by 12.65 mm. Water resistant to 30 m, on black fabric with light grey stitching.
